Our weekend was spent at the Erawan National Park at the 15th annual Land Rover Lovers weekend. Natalie thought she had died and gone to heaven (I think Chris did too). For three days we were completely surrounded by Land Rovers and their owners. In a very short time we met so many lovely people. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Yet another brilliant experience to add to our ever growing list of highlights from our trip.
The Land of Smiles
Needless to say, our first few days in Thailand were brilliant. We felt like we were on holiday again! In only a few short days, Thailand had already exceeded our expectations, and we were enjoying every minute of it.
Delhi Disaster
Authors note: A forewarning - this is a pretty negative account about India. Unfortunately for us, we had very few enjoyable moments during our time there. Our experience is our own, and this account is formed entirely of my own opinions. Many many people visit India and absolutely fall in love with it. It just wasn't for us.
Welcome to Pakistan
The Khunjerab pass is at 4700 metres, and, like in China, the customs and immigration offices are further down the road at a lower altitude. The 55 mile drive there was absolutely stunning. The road was in great condition, and we were surrounded by the breathtaking Karakorum mountains. We made multiple stops for photos, although they did not do the sights justice. It made our trials and tribulations in China completely worth it.
Uzbekistan’s Big Three: Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva
Our route began in Uzbekistan's capital city, Tashkent, and then followed the old silk road to three infamous cities: Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
Not so Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Suddenly Chris (who is not one to jump or easily scare when it comes to critters) leapt off the ground, grabbed me and pointed down. A huge bright yellow and green, part scorpion part spider, horns poised, ready to kill, was making its way towards us at the speed of light.
Norwich’s Serbian Twin
After being underwhelmed by all that Serbia had to offer us so far, we agreed to visit one more place before we drove into Romania. Probably aided by the glorious sunshine that was beating down on us for the first time in what felt like months, Novi Sad was beautiful.
Driving the Dalmatian
Natalie is fixed! Chris is brilliant. On the road we go again!
A Whistle-Stop Tour Of Slovenia
On the horizon was a snow topped mountain range. Wonderfully foreboding, it acted as a nice piece of symbolism to mark the part of our journey in which we left Western Europe behind us and journeyed into Eastern Europe.
Morocco 6.10.18 – 29.10.18 (Part 3)
Disaster has struck! We have succumbed to the terrible fate of being idiotic, gullible tourists.
